In the course of a public appearance to Lichfield Cathedral on Monday, the King was shouted at by a protester who questioned him about his brother's links with convicted sex offender Epstein.

The man asked how long the King had been known about his sibling's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and also raised doubts about whether he had instructed the police to "cover up" for Andrew.

Despite the protest, there were throngs of supporters and cheers for the monarch, who was visiting the region for an ceremony.

Prince Andrew's connections with Jeffrey Epstein have been under close examination in recent weeks. The royal, who gave up his royal duties earlier this month, has strongly denied any misconduct.

"How long have you been aware about Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein? Did you request the police to conceal for him?"

The King did not respond but carried on greeting fans, some of whom shouted "God Save The King". One supporter can be overheard requesting him for a embrace.

Another woman outside the venue was also heard telling the heckler to "leave" and to "shut up".

Scandal Revived by Memoir

The scandal over the Duke of York's connections to Epstein has been revived by misconduct claims repeated in Virginia Giuffre's posthumously-published book.

In the publication, Ms Giuffre claims she had sexual encounters with the royal on multiple times, including one instance with Jeffrey Epstein and "several other minors"

Andrew, who agreed to a out-of-court agreement with the plaintiff in 2022, has consistently denied any wrongdoing. In 2019, he told BBC Newsnight he did not remember meeting her "at all", and that they "never had any sort of intimate relations."

Fresh Questions Over Lifestyle and Housing

But recently, fresh questions have been raised about how he is able to finance his lifestyle despite not being a working royal.

The disclosure that he has only ever paid a nominal fee on his Windsor mansion has heightened the examination over his housing situation - even though he made large payments initially, including for renovations.

The Liberal Democrats said he should be called in front of MPs to give evidence about his lease of his residence.

But last week, the government refused to give parliamentarians time to debate the royal's status or his home, despite growing pressure for scrutiny.

Buckingham Palace has not issued a statement on whether the Duke of York might relocate of his current residence - or where he might go.
